Budino di Cioccolata - Italian Chocolate Pudding

Chocolate pudding is a dessert loved by everyone, young and old. Easy and delicious, it makes us feel like when you were a child, having a snack you enjoyed prepared by your grandmother.


  • 100 gr standard flour

  • 100 gr dark chocolate (75-85% cocoa)

  • 60 gr cocoa

  • 100 gr white sugar

  • 100 gr butter

  • 1 liter milk

  • 500 ml cream

  1. In a saucepan, over a moderate flame, heat the milk without boiling it

  2. In another saucepan, melt the butter and add the sugar

  3. Stir with a whisk until it blends

  4. Chop the chocolate with a knife, rather coarsely

  5. Add the chocolate to the butter pan. Melt over medium heat, stirring with a hand whisk

  6. When the mixture is fluid, add the sifted flour and mix with a whisk so that no lumps form

  7. Pour the hot milk slowly, stirring with the whisk.

  8. Add the gelatin (Optional)

  9. Cook the pudding for a few minutes until it begins to thicken.

  10. Remove from the heat as soon as it begins to compact: as it cools, it will thicken completely.

  11. Wet the pudding mould and immediately pour the mixture inside

  12. Leave the pudding to cool to room temperature, then place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours

  13. Unmold the budino and cover the top with the whipped cream.
